Studio Etiquette

Be on time!

“If you’re early, you’re on time - if you’re on time, you’re late” Please arrive to the studio no later than 5 minutes before class starts. We cannot permit late entries into class due to safety concerns and the comfort of the other students. Late entries are distracting to other students and your body needs time to warm up in the beginning of class to practice safely and avoid injury.

Be Present!

Cell phones and ear phones are not allowed in the studio room - in certain cases phones can be permitted (physician on call, children at school, etc) but must remain on silent. Cell phone use during classes is a distraction for everyone, checking your messages, your alerts, etc. can wait. If it can’t wait we ask you to step outside the room to use your phone. Life is distracting enough, give yourself this time to be present, to connect within. Wearing ear phones poses a safety concern due to not being able to hear your instructor’s cues and directions. When you are not engaged with the instructor it becomes a liability for us and a distraction for those around you. Absolutely NO video or audio recording in classes is allowed.

Yoga Clothes

Keep it covered! We ask our students to wear appropriate clothing for the comfort of all students. Yoga pants/shorts and tanks/t-shirts for ladies and mid-thigh or longer shorts, pants and tanks/t-shirts for men are appropriate for every class we offer at the studio. You will be moving, bending and stretching in most classes, wearing comfortable clothing that covers your private assets is appreciated by everyone!

Be Kind!

To yourself and to others in the studio. Yoga is not simply a physical practice, it is a practice that teaches us about ourselves, the world around us and how we operate within it. Practicing with kindness means that you follow along with the structure of the class regardless of your physical ability. Our teachers offer modification and challenge options in each class, there is something for everyone! But if you’re in a headstand when everyone else is in Savasana it is disrespectful to your teacher and the other students in class. Practice mindfully.

We’re Chatty..

We are not a silent yoga studio, community is a large part of our studio’s culture. Many of our members have been with us since the beginning and wonderful friendships exist within our walls. We welcome everyone to our space! Because we respect everyone has different beliefs and backgrounds we do not discuss sensitive topics such as politics, religion, etc within our studio. We are here to relax and renew, to leave the stress of the world outside for an hour. We laugh and have fun, celebrate and support one another during classes. Join us!

Clear The Air

Please do not wear heavy perfumes, colognes, body sprays or smoke (anything) before coming to class. Many people have allergies and are sensitive to smells, please keep the studio a safe space to breathe. While we’re talking about odors…be mindful of yours! Everyone’s human, we get it, but no one likes to smell their classmate beside them during practice. Practicing good hygiene is being kind to your fellow studio members.
